A statement of independence and defiance against the ever-tightening constraints of the power companies. Chef originally wanted to name this event ‘f*** the electric bill’ but, with persuasion, settled on ‘back to basics’.

We plan to serve a menu of manual skill and raw innovation. Cooking only on charcoal alongside using techniques such as smoking, curing, fermentation with the freshest raw ingredients.
Drinks pairing to suit.

We are committed to using ZERO mains electrical power in the preparation and service of the food and drinks. For a site that uses only electricity not gas, its no small feat.
Think no ovens, no refrigeration, no snazzy kitchen equipment, no lights!

The hurdles we will overcome, to make this menu not only safe (for you and our team) but viable and up to Next Door standard, will be endless - let’s do it!

Dine by candlelight with live instrumentals, no electronics, sorry no card payments, definitely no Wi-Fi

Be prepared to leave behind many of our modern-day comforts - we are going off grid in our 17th century building - who is with us?
